► (1913-92) Político y periodista alemán. Su verdadero nombre es Herbert Ernst Karl Frahm. Perseguido por los nazis, combatió en España. Volvió a Alemania en 1945. De 1957 a 1966 fue burgomaestre de Berlín en la guerra fría. Presidente del Partido Socialdemócrata (SPD) de 1964 a 1987. Su política objetivista y de apertura al Este le valió el premio Nobel de la Paz en 1971. Dimitió de su cargo de canciller a consecuencia del caso de espionaje Guillaume (mayo 1974).

Estadista alemán. Siendo un joven socialdemócrata, huyó a Noruega para evitar ser arrestado después de que los nazis ascendieron al poder en la década de 1930. Ahí utilizó el nombre de Willy Brandt y trabajó como periodista. Regresó a Alemania después de la segunda guerra mundial, y fue elegido al parlamento en 1949, para luego convertirse en alcalde de Berlín Occidental (1957–66), cargo en el cual alcanzó fama mundial. Encabezó un gobierno de coalición como canciller de la República Federal de Alemania (1969–74). Siendo canciller, mejoró las relaciones con Alemania Oriental, otros países comunistas de Europa del Este y la Unión Soviética y ayudó a fortalecer la Comunidad Económica Europea. Debido a estos esfuerzos recibió el Premio Nobel de la Paz en 1971. Continuó como líder del Partido Socialdemócrata hasta 1987.
